Double WOW!

We've been to three more shows since I last posted! Yesterday we were on our own for most of the day. I just couldn't find the energy to do much of anything and decided I needed to take a nap for a couple of hours in the middle of the day. I felt a lot better after that! After a dinner of leftovers, we went to the Clay Cooper Show. It was pretty good, but not nearly as good as the Haygoods the night before, although some of the elderly folks in our group disagreed because they thought the Haygood Show was way too loud. The oldest person in our group is 91 years old [!] and there is only one couple younger than Kris and me. The show WAS very loud, but in our opinion, much better. Clay Cooper was mostly country which I grew up listening to and don't mind, but Kris doesn't care for it at all. Still, Clay is very talented and we managed to get through the whole show without sneaking out...


The next morning, we all left the campground pretty early and headed to the largest Golden Corral in the world for a breakfast buffet. Following breakfast we were privileged to have a private show by Allen Edwards who sings there regularly when he's not touring the U.S. I know what you're thinking, if he's so great, why does he sing at a Golden Corral? What a smooth voice this guy has! He sang a lot of wonderful oldies but goodies and everyone in our group just loved his show. His mom runs the gift shop there and makes sure everyone is happy with their meals. The food was great! We ate so much, we skipped lunch and went shopping at the nearby outlet mall. I managed to find some great bargains on some jeans, tops and shoes! Kris found something at Black & Decker. We had a little time to kill before the next activity, so we went back to the RV to check on Gabbi. She has the run of the coach when we're out and is such a good girl. Sometimes she naps in the front window on the dash, so she can see us coming when we return. She never complains, just waits for us faithfully!


Soon, we were packing into our vehicles again and heading to the Imax Theater to see the Ozark Legacy Show. It was interesting to say the least. Not long after, we lined up for dinner at McFarlain's next to the theater. Kris and I had catfish again and it was even better than the other night! After eating, we had a short drive to the Pierce Arrow Show. Oh my gosh, what a fantastic show! This is a quartet of young men, one of which in 2000, set a Guinness World Record for the lowest note produced by a human; (8 Hz, two octaves below a piano!). You would not believe how low he can go. This show was also partly a comedy act and let me tell you, it was HILARIOUS!


There was a bit of gospel and a lot of honoring veterans at every one of the shows we've seen so far. Here in Branson they are very patriotic and veterans are always given a standing ovation. The other thing we've noticed is that at EVERY show, during intermission, there is a live infomercial promoting their own DVDs, CDs, gift shop items [they all have the same stuff], concessions, you name it! That has to be where they make the bulk of their profits because they all do it... We have never seen anything like it and truth be told, it is a bit of a turn-off. You are literally held captive ~ it's almost like a time-share presentation! Other than that, we are enjoying the shows immensely.
